Terms & Conditions of membership to all Gastroparesis Resource Hub groups and affiliated groups
Conditions:
1. Membership is limited to persons suffering from the condition gastroparesis, or carers or family members of those with gastroparesis, or those with a specific clinical interest in gastroparesis. All support group facilities are open to new members regardless of their location. The Gastroparesis Resource Hub Facebook.com page is an information board and is therefore open to anyone and membership is not required
2. Membership has to be approved by a group administrator and will be based upon confirmation that condition (1) is met.
3. Members will be bound by the group(s) privacy condition: In that any information posted or shared within a closed group and remains within that group location and is not shared in any format without prior consent of the originator. Any information shared or reposted in a group is with the specific permission of the originator.
4. Members will be bound by the group(s) honesty condition: In that no member shall post or share information that they know to be incorrect, incomplete, untrue or misleading, or to allow others to do so on their behalf.
5. Members will be bound by the group(s) abuse condition: In that no member shall harass or abuse, either physically or verbally, another member or members, either by posting a message or information on a social networking site, website, or via private message or text, or in a written or visual format, or publication, or verbally by telephone or in person, or by making defamatory statements.
6. Members can only post pictures, photographs or video’s that they are featured in or those that are their own property or with the specific permission of the owner. All material of this nature is automatically protected by copyright and therefore permission must be obtained.
7. Permission to promote or highlight other groups, websites, charities & organisations must be sought from a group administrator.
Complaints:
All complaints should be made to the group(s) administrator in a written format, supplying any evidence or documentation to support the claim. Dependant on the basis of the complaint the member against whom the complaint is made, may have membership temporarily suspending pending conclusion of the formal decision making process. The administrator will investigate the complaint, and a formal decision will be reached, and the complainant will be notified of the decision in a written format within 7 days of the initial complaint.
Exclusion from membership:
A person will be excluded from membership if they fail to meet condition (1) or if it is proven that they have been excluded from a similar group for breaking a privacy or honesty condition, or for abusive behaviour.
Suspension or termination of membership:
1. A person can terminate membership from any Gastroparesis Resource Hub group by using the ‘leave group’ facility.
2. A person’s membership can only be terminated or temporarily suspended by a group administrator. This will only be done if a member breaks a group condition, and the member will be notified of this action in a written format. GPRH can deem the suspension and/or termination as temporary or permanent dependant on the individual case history.
Decision review:
A member can request a review of a suspension, termination or complaint decision by submitting their reason for review in a written format within 28 days of the original decision being made and notified. GPRH will review the case history and any additional material submitted and notify the member of the outcome in writing within 7 days.
